This fan art is the first of a whole series of paintings of Caspar David Freidrich's works. As it is often the case, I worked with structure paste before I painted the actual motif with oil paint. This fan art refers to his painting "Two men in contemplation of the moon" and as you can see, I have omitted the two men. I also painted my fan art in monochrome, as I'm a big fan of monochrome works.
